When a couple opts to include their fur baby in wedding portraits and chooses a jalapeño margarita as a signature cocktail for their reception, you just kind of know their “Big Day” must have been filled with lots of fun.
And so it was when Maureen and James tied the knot in Osterville, MA on a stellar summer day.
The day began at Maureen’s parents’ summer home, where she and her maids relaxed with a bit of the bubbly while getting their hair and makeup done, while Matt and his groomsmen were safely sequestered in another part of the home.
Once James and Maureen were ready, she in a satin gown with a full skirt, pale blue peep-toe pumps, and a fingertip veil, and he in a classic blue suit with a bespoke shirt embroidered just for the day, it was time for a first look in the backyard.
When James saw his bride, he was literally moved to tears, and who can blame him? Maureen absolutely wowed!
After a few quick photos with photographer Kelly Dillon, it was all aboard a bright red trolley. Maureen and James were going to the chapel, and they were going to get married.
After saying their “I do’s” before more than 150 loved ones, the newlyweds and their wedding party moved on to Nauticus Marina, an absolutely stunning Cape Cod waterfront wedding venue, for a handful of not-too-posed portraits, and perhaps a jalapeño margarita or two.
It was time to party!
Arranged under a huge sailcloth tent was a mix of rectangular and round farmhouse tables. The team at Designers Touch Florals outdid themselves with endless arrangements of peach-hued roses and white hydrangeas, and luscious garland encircling each tent pole.
An array of woven light fixtures high up in the tents gently danced in the light breeze coming in from the harbor just steps away.
After being announced into their reception, the couple took to the dance floor for a romantic first dance, followed by a Champagne toast and heartfelt speeches from those who know them best.
After dinner, James and Maureen made their way down to the beach for a few more romantic photos in the softening evening light. You can practically feel the love!
After cutting their cake, Maureen and James once again took to the dance floor, this time with their wedding party and family. Within minutes they were joined by their guests and an evening of dancing, love and laughter followed, and perhaps a jalapeño margarita… or two.
