Lauren and Jason’s September wedding had all the elements of a quintessential destination wedding on Cape Cod.
Four fun-filled days, each with its own very special event; not one, but two stunning seaside Cape Cod wedding venues; charming décor details that created a just-right look of elegant beach chic; warm, sunny days and crisp, cool evenings: all-around, absolute perfection.
The wedding weekend kicked off on Thursday evening with the “I Do BBQ” at the bog-side Cranberry Sunset Farm in Marstons Mills. On Friday evening was a welcome party at the Captains Table at Hyannis Yacht Club. Saturday was the main event — more on that later! — at Nauticus Marina. The weekend wrapped up back at Nauticus with Sunday morning’s farewell brunch.
On the evening of their welcome party, Lauren and Jason had their photographers, The Libbys, stop in at the Hyannis Yacht Club, and we’re so glad they did. The photos, taken just as the sun was setting at the harbor-side location, are so romantic!
The next day was the Big Day, and it was yet another stellar September beauty. As Lauren slipped into her sleek, sheath-style gown, Jason enjoyed a pre-nuptial cold one with his groomsmen.
Once every hair was in place and every pleat perfectly pressed, the couple came together at Nauticus Marina for their “first look.”
The big moment — you know, the “goin’ to the chapel and…gonna get married” moment — had arrived. The couple exchanged vows before their loved ones at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville. Mission accomplished!
Because of limited available parking, the couple had arranged transportation for their guests from various area hotels and inns to the waterfront wedding venue, a thoughtful gesture that would also allow guests to, um, really “relax” at the reception.
Personalized seashells arranged in a bed of sand directed guests to their tables under a big white tent arranged at water’s edge. Under the tent, round tables were topped with dusty-blue floor-length linens and floral arrangements brimming with baby blue hydrangeas. Oyster shells adorned with metallic stars added a touch of bling to the beachy vibe.
Lauren and Jason carried their laidback beach approach into the reception with food stations that were designed to keep guests mingling. The cocktail hour included a Cape Cod raw bar in addition to an array of passed hors d’oeuvres. Dinner selections featured a selection of cocktail-themed “martini salads” and seafood paella filled with fresh, local seafood.
Before dancing began, the couple cut their cake, which, like their invitations and florals, included blue hydrangeas.
As guests took to the dance floor, Jason and Lauren joined The Libbys out on the docks and amidst the dunes for the most romantic photo shoot ever. And we’re so glad they did!
