From the bride’s flowing blonde tresses and shimmering flat sandals perfect for dancing the night away, to the farmhouse tables with simple place settings and stunning centerpieces arranged under a white tent overlooking the ocean at Turntide Estate in Chatham, everything about Kelly and Brad’s September 2015 wedding was the embodiment of relaxed Cape Cod chic. Margot Landen Photography beautifully captured the love-filled day and charming details.
Guests sat on rustic wooden benches as they listened to Kelly & Brad exchanged their heartfelt vows. A cloudless blue sky and the Atlantic Ocean were the perfect backdrop; the snapping of flags on a yardarm the perfect accompaniment. A too-cute ring bearer clad in denim overalls and toddler flower girl dressed in organza and lace attempted to steal the show, but once Kelly appeared in her silk bridal gown with its plunging back and flowers woven through her hair, all eyes were on the bride as she came down the aisle carrying a bouquet of white roses.
While Kelly and Brad took time for family portraits and romantic photos of the newlyweds savoring a private moment, their loved ones enjoyed cocktail hour on the sloping emerald lawn overlooking the water where they mingled and sampled a selection of passed hors d’ oeuvres such as tenderloin and brie sliders, mini lobster rolls and buttermilk fried chicken served on cheddar-jalapeno waffles, along with a classic Cape Cod raw bar laden with shrimp and local oysters. A buffet dinner of roasted tenderloin of beef with cognac béarnaise and day boat haddock finished with lobster crème followed.
Just as the sun began to set, Kelly and Brad snuck down to the water where photographer Margot Landen captured the relaxed-looking newlyweds enjoying a quiet moment while sitting atop an overturned dinghy sitting among the sand and dune grass. An evening of dancing followed with freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies and French roast coffee fueling guests as they hit the dance floor.
