When a bride opts to ditch her wedding gown and go with a short floral dress for her reception, you just know it’s going to be a fun wedding with a decidedly laidback vibe. Yet, with a stunning Cape Cod wedding venue, a thoughtful planning process, and gorgeous details, “laid back” can still feel luxurious, as Debra and Ron so aptly proved with their wedding in June of 2021.
Debra and Ron chose to host both their wedding ceremony and their reception at Highfield Hall & Gardens, a truly unique wedding venue on Cape Cod. At the heart of the venue is the 1878-built Stick style Queen Anne mansion that was once the summer home of the Beebe family. Surrounding the mansion are expansive gardens which are the perfect place for both an outdoor ceremony and spectacular photo ops.
Debra and Ron’s ceremony took place in the lush West Garden, which is shaded by old-growth trees and surrounded with flowerbeds bursting with color.
All eyes were on the bride as she was escorted down the gentle slope, the glorious mansion providing a magnificent backdrop. With its lace bodice and boho-chic look, Debra’s wedding gown was effortlessly elegant, as was her bouquet done in a combination of bright colors, unexpected textures, and rich foliage.
The couple’s family and friends were all smiles as Debra and Ron shared heartfelt vows. After being pronounced husband and wife and savoring a kiss, it was high-fives as the newlyweds made their way back up to the mansion.
As guests made their way to the cocktail reception on the mansion’s veranda and its sprawling lawn, the couple took a few minutes to pose for portraits. They also popped into the tent arranged over the brick terrace adjacent to the mansion to take in the beauty that awaited for their reception.
Between the Sunken Garden and the gilded glory of the mansion, there is no shortage of magnificent places to pose for portraits at Highfield Hall & Gardens.
Is it any wonder that we love, love, love the look on Ron’s face when he saw the wedding cake our baker custom created for the couple?
Not surprisingly, the couple’s wedding décor was simple yet stunning. Round tables were clad in floor-length white linens, and topped with brightly hued floral arrangements. Napkins in a mix of lavender and lilac added a further pop of color.
Dinner was an elegant buffet with a focus on fresh, farm-to-table ingredients that celebrated the summer season on Cape Cod.
After enjoying a leisurely meal filled with sparkling conversation and exceptional wine, the couple cut the cake that the groom had been so joyously ogling just a short time earlier.
Ron and Debra then led their guests into the mansion, where they wowed everyone with their moves for the first dance. It was one more romantic moment in a day absolutely brimming with love and laughter!
