If ever there was a time when we’d all appreciate the beaming smile of a happy, happy person, this is it.
We feel better just looking at Chrissy as she listened to a toast at her pre-pandemic (sigh) wedding. So while we all await what can only be a brighter future, we thought we’d take a look back at one our favorite weddings from 2019. And lest you think it was only Chrissy who was grinning from ear to ear on the big day, one look at her brand-new hubby’s face and you just know that this was a couple who was madly in love, and having the best day ever.
The weather on the June day that Chrissy and Nick said their “I dos” at Nauticus Marina was beyond perfect: sunny and not too humid, with a cool breeze coming in off of the water to keep it from feeling too warm. It is days like this that that make June such a popular month for weddings on Cape Cod.
It was also a day for some very cool kids. Could they be any cuter?
After choosing Nauticus Marina, a waterfront Cape Cod wedding venue, as the site for both their ceremony and reception, it only made sense that Chrissy and Nick opted for classic coastal wedding details. From the moment guests received their save-the-date cards, they knew they were in for Cape Cod wedding perfection.
With a sleeveless dress with a lace bodice and a skirt with layers of tulle, Chrissy’s look was relaxed yet oh-so elegant. Badgley Mischka mules in a shade of blush, and a bouquet of white hydrangeas and blush and white roses completed her look.
Prior to the ceremony, Chrissy wowed Nick at a “first look” among the rosa rugosa. Photographer Janelle Carmela was there to capture the romance of the moment, and the look on Nick’s face when he turned and saw his beloved.
After their first-look ceremony, the couple went to a nearby beach for some casual shots, then joined their wedding party for portraits.
It was time to get married.
With the iconic lighthouse at Nauticus Marina as a backdrop, Chrissy and Nick exchanged their vows, and a few laughs, in front of their family and friends.
With portraits already taken care of, Chrissy and Nick were able to pop down to the docks for a quiet moment as husband and wife before joining their guests under a huge sailcloth tent.
Nick looks rather excited to see his bride, doesn’t he?
First came love. Then came marriage. Then came a fabulous party filled with friends, fun, and good food and wine.
