Carol & Yang at Highfield Hall & Gardens

With just their family and closest friends coming to their destination wedding on Cape Cod, Carol and Yang wanted a venue with intimate spaces that was still grand enough to celebrate such an important day. They found just that at Highfield Hall & Gardens, a Cape Cod wedding venue with a distinctive vintage vibe.

Because the Cape is surrounded by water, the area typically enjoys spectacular fall weather, and so it was for Carol Yang’s and late-September wedding. Prior to the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a private “first look” moment, and spent a few minutes with their photographer, Angelina Rose, taking advantage of the spectacular photo ops provided by the venue’s gardens. Carol was stunning in a gown with a beaded bodice and layers of flowing chiffon, and Yang was the epitome of dapper in his navy suit.

The West Garden at Highfield Hall & Gardens was awash in soft sunlight as Carol came down the aisle to join her beloved for the big moment. Her maids were dressed in a deep red shade – perfect for an autumn wedding – and her bouquet was filled with blooms in a fall palette, as were the floral arrangements that decorated the classic white arbor under which the couple exchanged their vows.

Because they had done several portraits prior to the ceremony, the newlyweds were able to get their post-nuptial photos done fairly quickly and join their guests on the venue’s lawn for the cocktail hour almost immediately.

Arranged under sail cloth tent on the venue’s brick terrace were classic farmhouse tables topped with grasscloth runners. Fresh greenery interwoven with blooms in fall colors and sprigs of fragrant rosemary ran from one end of each table to the other. A spray of fresh flowers in similar hues adorned the couple’s wedding cake.

The day had been flawlessly timed. While late-afternoon sun bathed the ceremony and cocktail hour in a warm glow, by the time dinner was served, the sun had set, perfect for a candle-lit dinner.
