A spectacular June day. A beachfront wedding venue that is the epitome of Cape Cod casual. Love and laughter everywhere.

Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? And so it was when Natalie and Jack celebrated their wedding at Kalmar Village in North Truro.

In true destination wedding style, many of Natalie and Jack’s loved ones joined them at Kalmar Village – a resort as well as a venue – for the weekend, which kicked off with a rehearsal dinner at nearby Truro Vineyards.

On the Big Day, Natalie and her maids got ready in one of the resort’s oceanfront cottages. After a Champagne toast, they made their way to a trolley that took family and the wedding party – first the bride’s, then the groom’s – back to Truro Vineyards. While there, Jack got his “first look” of Natalie among the grapevines. The group then spent time taking portraits with photographer Julia Cumes.

Back at Kalmar Village, it was time for the Big Moment. A smiling Natalie was led down the resort’s boardwalk by her father. At the end of the boardwalk, she joined Jack under a driftwood arbor where they exchanged their vows, with the glistening waters of Cape Cod Bay serving as the perfect backdrop.

With formal portraits already taken care of, Jack and Natalie were able to join their guests for the cocktail hour immediately after signing their marriage certificate (so official; so exciting!).

Guests gathered on the lawn just outside the tent, with views of the water, as they enjoyed Champagne, Cape Cod Mules (the couple’s signature cocktail), passed hors d’ oeuvres and a raw bar. Overturned vintage barrels served as cocktail tables. Some guests ditched their shoes for a game of cornhole in the sand, while others grabbed selfies using fun props provided by the bride and groom.

Under the white sailcloth tent, Jack and Natalie continued their Cape Cod casual vibe. The blend of farmhouse tables, topped with runners, and linen-clad round tables felt just right. Clear glass bud vases, in an array of shapes and sizes, were everywhere. Each was filled with a mix of flowers and greens, yet no two were alike.

After heartfelt speeches and a sit-down dinner of grilled filet mignon and roasted day-boat cod, it was time to cut the cake: a small cutting cake atop a tower of cupcakes, rather than a traditional wedding cake. Despite the icing-filching efforts of a fun-loving guest, it had remained untouched until Natalie and Jack were ready.

Early in the evening, as the light took on a soft, ethereal glow, Natalie and Jack stepped away from their reception for a few minutes for portraits on the boardwalk: Absolutely beautiful, as was absolutely everything about their wedding day.
